Eastern Africa Transmission Planning Partnership (EATP) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from July 11-14, 2016

With the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP) Planning Committee and the United States Energy Association (USEA) conducted a Dynamic Training and Working Group Meeting of the Eastern Africa Transmission Planning Partnership (EATP) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from July 11-14, 2016.  During the working group training and meeting, the EATP participants received 24 hours of training on the use of PSS/E to model transient network stability, reviewed and updated Version 3.0 of the integrated regional planning model for 2020, discussed next steps for regional model improvement and future development of the long-term planning model for target year 2025, and launched its first analysis of the Power Africa generation transactions vis-à-vis the critical network infrastructure and capacity in each country.  Participating in the meeting were representatives from utilities; from Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
